THE GATEWAY PROJECT
This section of our website was created using the financial support of the Department of Canadian Heritage through Canadian Culture Online. Thanks to their funding, we were able to hire and train five employees in website design. Nuiyak School has donated technical consultation, supervision, and instruction to ensure the success of the website.
This site is meant to showcase Inuit culture and the community of Sanikiluaq, Nunavut. Explore the site and you will find video, audio, photos, and textual descriptions that display the unique existence of living and working in a Northern community that is predominantly Inuit. Because of the training component of this project, there are now a number of community members with the technical skills to build and maintain websites.
All work has been performed in Sanikiluaq by members of the community.
